"From Plains Georgia. This was probably native American recipe and probably used boiling water in leaner times. Some newer recipes use 2 teaspoons baking powder. Season to taste, they used salt like a fiend in older times."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Mix cornmeal with hot milk and let set until cooled.
Step 2
Add rest of ingredients.
Step 3
Pour into heavily buttered Pam sprayed shallow Pyrex baking dish.
Step 4
Bake at 300 degrees for 45 minutes or until firm. It is not supposed to be hard like cornbread.
Step 5
Use a big spoon to serve it.
