"As soon as I saw this recipe in TOH's The Best of Country Cooking 2016 by Dana Lowry from Hickory NC, I knew they had to be made as soon as possible. Even though I messed up the recipe( read: didn't read recipe carefully) ,they turned out very well.The actual prep time will depend on your Bread Machine.The directions I'm giving are based on my machine. Step by Step Method

Step 1

Add water,butter,egg,sugar and seasonings.

Step 2

Add flour and make two small " wells " add salt to one and the yeast in the other making sure yeast doesn't touch the water.

Step 3

Select dough cycle setting(after a few minutes of mixing,check to see if a small amount of flour or water if needed).

Step 4

When dough cycle is completed,place dough on a lightly floured surface and divide dough into 16 pieces and shape into balls

Step 5

Place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets ( I was able to use 1 sheet).

Step 6

Cover ,and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.

Step 7

Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 8

Brush with melted butter.
