"As soon as I saw this recipe in TOH's The Best of Country Cooking 2016 by Dana Lowry from Hickory NC, I knew they had to be made as soon as possible. Even though I messed up the recipe( read: didn't read recipe carefully) ,they turned out very well. The actual prep time will depend on your Bread Machine. The directions I'm giving are based on my machine. If yours is different, please go by what your machine suggests. Posted to " ZAZZ " on 7/31/17. " Keep Smiling :)"
Add water,butter,egg,sugar and seasonings.
Add flour and make two small " wells " add salt to one and the yeast in the other making sure yeast doesn't touch the water.
Select dough cycle setting(after a few minutes of mixing, check to see if a small amount of flour or water if needed).
When dough cycle is completed, place dough on a lightly floured surface and divide dough into 16 pieces and shape into balls
Place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets ( I was able to use 1 sheet).
Cover ,and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
