"This is a play on a Ham and Swiss Sandwich. Deli ham and cheese, green olives and Frenches or Durkee canned fried onions. Now, if you can't find them, use a red onion. In my photo I attached, I had to use a red onion because I didn't have the fried onions, but the salad is best if you can find them. The dressing is a creamy mustard dressing. Go light on the dressing, just a small spoon is all you need on your salad."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Salad ... In a large serving bowl, add the salad, ham, swiss cheese, olives and a little of the olive juice from the jar. Season well with salt and pepper and toss. Add in the fried onions (and if you can't find them, thin sliced red onion) and toss. The fried onions really make this dish and are usually found at any grocery store, Garnish with a few extra fried onions on top and serve with my Creamy Mustard Dressing.

Step 2

Serve ... Family style with the dressing on the side. I like to plate and serve with a dollop of the dressing on top so they can mix it in how they like. ENJOY!
