Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 6-8 cups iceberg lettuce, rough chopped
  • 1-2 slices baked ham, 1/4-1/2" thick and julienned (get it right from the deli)
  • 2-3 slices swiss cheese, 1/4-1/2" thick and julienned (get it right from the deli)
  • 1 cup green olives with pimentos, rough chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups durkee or frenches canned fried onions (if they are not available, a thin sliced red onion is a good substitute)
  • 1 teaspoon olive juice, more or less to taste
  • Salt to taste (go easy as the olives and ham are both salty)
  • Pepper to taste
  • Dressing:
  • See recipe my creamy mustard dressing
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Salad ... In a large serving bowl, add the salad, ham, swiss cheese, olives and a little of the olive juice from the jar. Season well with salt and pepper and toss. Add in the fried onions (and if you can't find them, thin sliced red onion) and toss. The fried onions really make this dish and are usually found at any grocery store, Garnish with a few extra fried onions on top and serve with my Creamy Mustard Dressing.

  • Step 2: Serve ... Family style with the dressing on the side. I like to plate and serve with a dollop of the dressing on top so they can mix it in how they like. ENJOY!
