Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a large dutch oven, add water, chicken base, onion, carrots and potatoes. Bring to a boil; reduce to a simmer.

Step 2

Add ham, bay leaf, pepper, parsley and curry powder. Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Remove bay leaf.

Step 3

Add instant potatoes and stir. Cook 5 minutes.

Step 4

Add milk and cheese and continue cooking, stirring often, until heated through. Add salt, if needed.
