Step 1

Mix first five ingredients Cover and refridgerate a few hours

Step 2

Combine ground beef and seasonings.

Step 3

Mix well

Step 4

Shape into 4 patties

Step 5

Grill covered (or use a toaster oven or broiler) until done 10 to 12 minutes. Flip once during cooking.

Step 6

Cut patties into slices

Step 7

Stuff into pitas

Step 8

Add lettuce cucumber tomato and onion

Step 9

Serve with sauce.

We really enjoyed these gyros tonight, Marra. The end product came out nice and tasty and the tzatziki sauce gave it that extra juiciness in our pita. I did however, add some dill to both the meat and sauce because I had some available. Also, added some tabbouleh to the pockets, as I had some on hand. I loved your recipe Marra. It was so good; the burger did taste like a gyros. I made a deconstructed version of this dish. I didn't have any pita so I made it with naan. The sauce was amazing, simply amazing. Thank you for sharing a recipe that I will make again. Made FYC tag game.

The meat was well seasoned and did taste like gyro meat. Next time I will double or triple the tzatziki sauce, as we use a lot on our sandwiches! LOL. Thanks for sharing!

Daily Inspiration

We enjoyed these gyros very much -- the beef was well seasoned and it went so well with all of the condiments include the cucumber/yogurt sauce. Serve along with some soup for a nice healthy meal tonight.
