"Not traditional, but we found this stew very good. I did change the amounts of the ingredients due to the size of the cans I used. Served with cornbread it is a complete meal. We had apple crisp pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Adapted from Green Chili Bible"

Anyone that loves chilies will love this soup! This soup lover halved the recipe, next time around as posted and freeze the extra for my lunches. Loving the new to me freezer containers with the screw on lids that keep that soup tasting as good as the day it's made. While I had cans of chilies I used my summer grown with awesome results. Into my Soup Cookbook for this one! Thank you ellie.

We really enjoyed this stew...hubby felt it needed beans so I served his over pinto beans...due to the long cooking time I think the green chiles got lost...but you could still taste them...made for "Bill Board" tag game...
