Step 1

In a bowl, combine soup, milk, soy sauce and pepper. Gently stir in beans. Spoon half of the mixture into a 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish. Sprinkle with half of the onions. Spoon remaining bean mixture over the top

Step 2

Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until heated through. Sprinkle with remaining onions. Bake 5 minutes longer or until the onions are brown and crispy

I've lived in Iceland for 15 yrs now & never been able to "score" fresh or canned green beans until Costco opened a store here in Reykjavik. 1st I found the beans there & then I found your recipe. This was indeed an "old family standard" for my bro, sis & myself as we grew up. I took the liberty of adding crumbled crisp bacon to your recipe & enjoyed it the way my Mom always made it for us. It was my intent to post a 2nd pic of the plated dinner, but there wasn't a speck left & your recipe was shared w/our dinner guests from Switzerland. Thx for sharing this sure-to-be-repeated recipe w/us. :-)
