"Old fashioned pickled beets. These beets were a staple in my Gma's cellar. When the beets were all eaten, she would put hard boiled eggs in the juice. I'm not sure which I loved more. Serving size is pints."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Boil beets until fork tender. Skin, cut or slice into desired size. Pack into pint jars. Place 2 whole cloves in each jar.

Step 2

Boil together water, vinegar, sugar and salt. Pour over beets. Seal while hot.
