Step by Step Method
Step 1
Clean the beans and snip both ends off; cut into bite size pieces. (can leave whole if you prefer)
Step 2
Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil; toss in 1 pound of the prepared beans and let sit for 2 minutes.
Step 3
Remove the beans with a slotted ladle and place in a bowl or sink filled with ice water; let sit for 2 minutes.
Step 4
Remove the beans and place on a clean towel; gently pat dry and place into freezer bags. Seal the bags removing as much air as possible with a straw, or use a vacuum sealer system.
Step 5
Repeat procedure with the remainder of the fresh beans.
Step 6
Freeze until ready to use.
