Step by Step Method

Step 1

Cook the pasta in heavily salted boiling water until al dente, drain, saving 1 cup pasta water.

Step 2

In skillet heat oil.

Step 3

Cook hot dogs until lightly browned.

Step 4

Add bell pepper, shallots and ground beef, (I'm adding more ground beef they had 1/4 pound )

Step 5

Cook until browned.

Step 6

Add tomato paste and brown sugar.

Step 7

Add pasta water and ketchup, add more if needed.

Step 8

Simmer, adding cooked, drained spaghetti.

Step 9

Season to taste, adding red pepper flakes to taste or not at all.

Step 10

Cook until tight.

Step 11

Add cheese to taste.
