"I've been making this for years. It is one of my hubby's favorite dishes."

Step 1

Place ground beef and onion into large pan and season with spices, herbs, salt and pepper. Cook until beef is done but not browned.

Step 2

Add brown sugar, vinegar, ketchup, and mustard to the cooked beef mixture. Stir until all is very well blended. Reduce heat to simmer.

Step 3

While beef mixture is simmering, prepare the macaroni according to package directions.

Step 4

When macaroni is done, drain and add to the pan with the beef mixture. Mix well and serve immediately.

This is very good -- it is a tad spicy but we enjoyed it very much. I did not have any mustard so used 1 tsp of ground mustard. I also used fresh basil and oregano - no measurement about a good size clipping of each. Thanks for sharing!

I liked this very much. We left out the red pepper flakes and it was still a little spicy for me. I loved the way the flavors mixed for the sauce.

I made this recipe on 10/27/17 for two games, " Down Home Comfort " and " The Alphabet Soup Tag ". For once I followed a recipe as it was written. ;) The next time I make this, I'm going to add a smaller amount of cooked pasta. SO thought that it had too much of a " ketchupy " taste. So that's the reason for the 4*'s. Thanks for posting and, " Keep Smiling :) "

This is a real treat. I added some peas & carrots, used small onions from the garden & used spiral macaroni but that did not deter from the recipe - the herbs and other ingredients remained the same. The flavour is MMMM. I'll be making this again

Made for the "Down Home Cooking" tag game - I doubled this recipe so we could eat it for a cpl of dys & be able to freeze the rest for a later meal or 2. You have reviews & pics of the recipe as written, so I took the liberty of using fusilli pasta & expanded it like Mom did when we were kids who needed to eat their veggies. I added a can ea of corn & mushrooms, topped it w/shredded white cheddar in a casserole dish & oven-baked it til the cheese melted. This was so good, Teresa, & brought back memories. Thx for sharing this recipe w/us. (A pic will post later tonite or tomorrow)

Needed a fast & easy dinner after a long day and found this recipe. I used mini penne, replaced the hot pepper flakes with chipotle powder and cut the brown sugar in half. DH LOVED this and so did I! Will be making this again! Thanks Teresa!
