Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 ounces yellow onion (finely chopped, 1/2 medium onion)
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon oregano, dried
  • 1 teaspoon basil, dried
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (Hungarian paprika)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons mustard
  • 8 ounces dry elbow pasta (macaroni)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place ground beef and onion into large pan and season with spices, herbs, salt and pepper. Cook until beef is done but not browned.

  • Step 2: Add brown sugar, vinegar, ketchup, and mustard to the cooked beef mixture. Stir until all is very well blended. Reduce heat to simmer.

  • Step 3: While beef mixture is simmering, prepare the macaroni according to package directions.

  • Step 4: When macaroni is done, drain and add to the pan with the beef mixture. Mix well and serve immediately.
