Easy Bread Bowls
"These are easy and quick. They only take about an hour after the frozen bread dough is thawed. Fill them with your favorite thick soup, chowder, chili, or stew. It is fun to tear away the bread as you eat your soup and the two go great together. I sometimes put homemade chicken salad in them; that is good, too. The time below does not include the thawing of the bread dough. HINT: To make the handling of the bread dough easier, make sure the bread has completely thawed but has not started to rise. You may also need to reshape the rounds after a few minutes on the cups by gently pushing and dough down and shaping as needed."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Thaw the bread but DO NOT let it rise yet (see HINT about in the description).
Step 2
Lightly grease the outside of six 10-ounce custard cups with shortening (do not use cooking spray); place the cups upside down on a cookie sheet.
Step 3
Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces and shap each piece into a ball; pat into rounds and place these rounds over the custard cups and brush with oil.
Step 4
Sprinkle with basil and garlic salt; cover the let rise in a warm place for about 20 minutes.
Step 5
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 16-20 minutes or till golden brown; cool 5 minutes and remove from the cups and place on a rack (inside of the bowl may be slighly moist).
Step 6
To serve, place warm or cool bowls in shallow soup or pasta bowl and spoon your soup (or whatever) into them.
