  • When selecting the shrimp, look for ones that are firm and have a pinkish color.
  • If you don't have white wine, you can substitute with chicken broth or apple cider.

  • Substitute olive oil for butter to make the dish healthier. The benefit of making this substitution is that olive oil is a healthier alternative to butter, as it is a monounsaturated fat that can help lower cholesterol levels.
  • Substitute cauliflower for the shrimp to make the dish vegetarian. The benefit of making this substitution is that it will make the dish vegetarian-friendly, and still provide a flavorful and satisfying meal.

Vegetarian Shrimp Curry Replace the shrimp with 1 cup of cooked chickpeas, and replace the chicken consomme with vegetable broth. Omit the white wine.

Yogurt Raita: A cooling yogurt-based condiment with cucumbers and tomatoes that pairs perfectly with the spicy curry. It helps to balance the flavors and adds a creamy texture to the meal.

Mango Chutney: A sweet and spicy condiment made from mangoes, sugar, and spices. It adds a burst of flavor to the meal and helps to balance the heat of the curry. It also provides a great contrast to the creamy texture of the yogurt raita.

I did a half recipe using 300 grams (12 prawns with shell on) and used a hot Madras curry and did omit the celery otherwise made as per recipe and served over cauliflower sauce but let the delicious curry sauce coat the cauliflower for personally I don't think it needed a curry rice especially as the Madras curry powder is quite hot but it all made for a very enjoyable low carb dinner but I scoffed the lot (yes 3 serves of curry and one serve of rice and all but a tablespoon of the veg. just couldn't help myself.) Thank you dienia b made for For Your Consideration tag game at FF&F.
