Step 1

Mix everything but the butter together in saucepan

Step 2

Let set 10 minutes

Step 3

Bring to a boil

Whisking constantly

Add butter when boiling

Cook until thickened

Dont leave will burn very easily

The milk foams up so be careful

This was a really great way to jazz up cream of wheat that I had in the kitchen. I got busy and before I realized, it had sat 20 minutes instead of the required 10, so mine was pretty darn thick, even with extra milk. It has a good flavor. FYI to anyone reducing the recipe to 1 serving. It will say 0 for the cloves and nutmeg. I just put in 1/8 teaspoon for each and it was fine. It also said 0 for the brown sugar and I put in 1 tablespoon cause I had a conversion chart that I had found from taste of home. Yes that is ocd. I'll make this again!

Both the hubby and grandson really enjoyed this for breakfast...the grandson said "yum" on the first spoonful...this was very easy to prepare...made for FYC tag game...
