Turn fruit mixture into an 8-inch square baking dish and dot with butter. Cover pastry, turning the edges of the pastry under and sealing them to the dish.
Slash pastry to allow steam to escape. Brush lightly with milk and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake at 400°F about 45 minutes. Serve slightly warm, with ice cream.
