Step by Step Method
Step 1
Mix yeast and 1 tablespoon sugar

With 1/2 cup warm milk not just after scalding let cool some

Now combine the shortening and 1/2 cup sugar Into the hot milk stir to combine and let cool

Add the yeast mixture when proofed and milk mixture cooled down to warm

Add eggs

Add nutmeg beat

Add salt to flour,they said you can add up to 8 cups

Add enough flour to make a soft dough

And put some melted shortening on the top

Cover with damp towel and put in fridge overnight

The next morning

Take dough out and let rise in warm spot for 1 hour

Roll out on floured board

To 1/4 inch high

Cut out with biscuit cutter and place on buttered cookie sheet

Cover with damp cloth and let rise until double about 30 minutes

Depress center of dough ball to accommodate 1 tablespoonfuls of which ever fillings you are putting in

Then garnish with either coconut or walnut that have been finely chopped

Let rise covered again for 30 minutes

Preheat oven to 450 degrees

Bake rolls for about 10 to 15minutes until lightly browned
