"I made this one up as I went along, and while I have made a couple of changes in method for the actual recipe to reduce the amount of liquid you see in the pictures, it is otherwise exactly how I made it. If you want, you can use a 9-inch deep-dish crust with this, but it's perfectly fine without one."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350F; spray a 9-inch deep-dish glass pie plate with cooking spray.

Step 2

If shrimp is frozen, thaw, rinse and drain, and then press between layers of paper towel to remove most of the water. Lay shrimp in bottom of prepared pie plate.

Step 3

Scatter onion over shrimp; scatter mushrooms over onions.

Step 4

In a small bowl, combine eggs, sour cream, seafood seasoning and 1 cup cheese; pour over pie plate and smooth evenly.

Step 5

Bake at 350F for 40 minutes.

Step 6

Scatter remaining 1/4 cup cheese over top; return to oven and bake 10 minutes more, or until cheese is melted and a knife inserted near center comes out clean.

Made this tonight and it was delicious. Used half pound of frozen shrimp, thawed dried and chopped. Sautéed the onion, added garlic, salt and pepper. Used half tablespoon Italian seasoning. No mushrooms. Used shredded Havarti cheese. The sour cream filling puffed up during cooking on a baking sheet. Let rest 15 minutes, was not watery at all. Everyone loved it!
