Crispy Barbecued Sweet Potatoes

Step 1

Spray the grill rack with nonstick spray; prepare the grill for medium-hot fire.

Step 2

Combine the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, mustard, and pepper in small bowl; mix well.

Step 3

Brush the potato slices on both sides with the ketchup mixture.

Step 4

Grill the potatoes 5 inches from heat, turning frequently and brushing with the remaining ketchup mixture, until browned on the outside and tender when pierced with a barbecue fork, about 8 minutes.

It was too hot to grill outside, so I peeled and sliced the sweet potatoes and popped them in the micro for a minute, then finished them off on a cast iron grill pan. Stovetop. Great side dish for when potatoes and rice get a bit boring! Thanks for sharing!

Very good grilled potatoes -- we used a mixture of sweet and white potatoes and this worked out very well. It took a bit longer for our potatoes but they were also sliced a bit thicker than indicated. Thanks for sharing!

The flavor of these potatoes was great. My potatoes did not get tender though. Next time I will heat up the oven and finish them off in there, or maybe even pre-cook them a bit before grilling. Thanks for sharing!

Great way to make sweet potatoes that pretty much goes well with any main dish. I started them on the grill as directed, except, they were taking quite a while to cook through, so transferred them to the oven to finish them off. Great flavors and we all enjoyed these very much.
