Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F
Step 2
Into large mixing bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
Step 3
Using pastry blender or two knives, cut shortening into flour mixture until it resembles coarse meal. Blend in Sweet Potatoes and spices.
Step 4
Add milk all at once and stir with fork until mixture comes together.
Step 5
On lightly floured board, knead 10 times.
Step 6
Roll out on lightly floured surface to 1/2 inch thickness.
Step 7
Cut with biscuit cutter dipped in flour.
Step 8
Arrange on ungreased baking sheet.
Step 9
Bake at 450 degrees F. for 12 minutes or until golden and puffed
