Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350F.

Step 2

Break the bread into pieces in a large bowl, pour milk over and soak, add the rest of the ingredients ( except topping).

Step 3

Shape into loaf and place in loaf pan.

Step 4

Spread topping over.

Step 5

Bake 1 - 1 1/4 hours or until done.

Step 6

Use the juices for gravy.

I scaled back for 1 serve but used 250 grams (about 1/2 lb) lean beef mince and followed as per recipe but made mini meatloaves (4) in a muffin pan which I cooked for 20 minutes but should have made it 10 to 15 minutes as they were a little dry but still tasted delicious from the spices, thank you natsgarden made for Alphabet Soup tag game.
