"Note that when preparing this that you will need to adjust the consistency of the buttercream for what you plan on using it for. The easiest way to do this is by adjusting the amount of milk opr cream you use"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Beat butter for a few minutes with a mixer with the paddle attachment on medium speed.

Step 2

Add 3 cups of powdered sugar and turn your mixer on the lowest speed (so the sugar doesn’t end up all over you and the counter) until the sugar has been incorporated with the butter.

Step 3

Increase mixer speed to medium and add vanilla extract, salt, and 2 tablespoons of milk/cream and beat for 3 minutes. If your frosting needs a more stiff consistency, add remaining sugar. If your frosting needs to be thinned out, add remaining milk 1 tablespoons at a time.

definately a classic, turned out great for some cupcakes i had to take to a meeting. I had no heavy cream, so instead of the cream and the vanilla, i used fresh lemon and fresh lime juice with a little lime zest. DH loved them, thanks for posting.
