"From an old family cookbook, another old favourite that still remains popular on the serving tray and one I come back to when planing my baking choices. It's a great treat to serve at coffee time or afternoon tea and makes a big hit with the younger crowd. Love these bars. "

Step by Step Method

Step 1

In mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt, add in the brown sugar, mix together, set aside

Step 2

In large mixing bowl, cream butter, add in peanut butter, beaten egg and vanilla

Step 3

Add in the flour and brown sugar mix, mix well

Step 4

Pat into a greased 15 - 10 inch pan, bake in a 350 oven 15 - 20 minutes or until golden brown, cool slightly

Step 5

Topping, melt chocolate and peanut butter over low heat (I use the microwave removing just as it melts) mix smooth adding in coconut, spread over base. Cool completely before cutting into squares
