"Ozzy Osbourne was the burrito guy. lol And he liked their pinto beans in one of them that I saw. I think you could crockpot this, just use less water maybe. They could have sauteed the onion and garlic in another pan and added it, and adding chili powder at very end and a tablespoons of oil."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Soak the beans in water that covers them, adding more water as needed.
Step 2
Bring beans to boil.
Step 3
Turn off and cover for 1 hour.
Step 4
Simmer with spices.
Step 5
Add everything to taste, adding water as needed; It's going to have strong flavor.
Step 6
Bring to boil.
Step 7
Reduce to simmer and cover for a couple hours or until tender.
Step 8
Remove lid to reduce to desired consistency. They are thick, don't burn them at this point.
Step 9
Remove bay leaves.
Step 10
Salt and pepper to taste.
Step 11
Add citrus juices to taste.
