"Baked beans are one of my favourite pot-luck foods. I am often asked for this recipe but never took the time to write it down until now."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Place the beans in a large bowl, cover completely with water and let soak overnight.

Step 2

Drain the beans and place in a crock-pot along with the onion.

Step 3

Whisk together the remaining ingredients and pour over the beans.

Step 4

Cover and cook on high for 7 to 8 hours, until all the liquid is absorbed and the beans are cooked through.

I made these today to bring to camp. I had a few teaspoons to taste and I loved them! The coffee and cocoa adds a new dimension to the flavor of the beans, and they were yummy! Thank you for this one Bea! Linda

Very good beans but the liquid never completely absorbed - however the beans were very good and tasty. I live in high altitude (5000 ft), so this may have been part of the problem. Thanks for sharing!

Completely awesome recipe. The taste is right on! I have never had baked beans with coffee and no molasses and I really enjoyed these! Thanks Bea! Loved these!
