Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2

Melt the butter in the bottom of a loaf pan (9x5x3 in.).

Sprinkle the brown sugar and nuts over the butter and arrange the cherries.

Step 4

In a bowl sift the dry ingredients.

Step 5

Stir in the combined egg, milk, juice, butter and bran, only enough to moisten.

Step 6

Add the remaining cherries and nuts.

Step 7

Pour the batter over the mixture.

Step 8

Bake for 60 minutes or until a tester comes away clean.

Step 9

Remove to a rack.

Step 10

Serve sliced hot or cold.
