Step by Step Method

Step 1

Mix Miracle whip, vinigar, oil and sugar.

Step 2

Mix with a wisk for a couple minutes

Step 3

Add onions. This dressing can be prepared a day ahead or pour over the salad ( cabbage, carrots and green onions) refrigerate for a couple hours or up to 8 hours ahead. Many options.

Step 4

Note:Cook time is refrigeration time. Tarragon vinigar can be ajusted to taste. I find that the Borges tarragon flavoured wine vinigar works well. This I have purchased at Safeway.

I used red wine vinegar that I had on hand and this came together with great flavor and crunch that was perfect with my baked crunchy chicken. Another coleslaw winner!

Made this delicous coleslaw for our family barbecue - thumbs up from all - a five star recipe. I did wonder about the sugar but being a Dot recipe I followed through as posted - WINNER! (dh loved this salad so will be trying this with Splenda) Although I used Hellmans Mayo as I do for all recipes requesting dressing, I followed though as posted. I used sweet onion and green onion tops and used 2 16 ounce packages of coleslaws mix. I hid some in the back of the fridge for my lunch today - it was just as good. That tells me it could be a make ahead - love make aheads! Thank you Dot - it's in my Family Cookbook.
