Step by Step Method
Step 1
Combine sugar, flour, orange juice, butter and dates in a saucepan

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils

Boil and stir 1 minute, remove from heat

Stir half of the hot mixture into the egg yolks, then stir into the remaining hot mixture in saucepan

Heat to boiling
