I deviated slightly in that I had fresh black-eyed peas....I really am from the South! Took less time, but the taste was great! Made for Culinary Quest!

A very good recipe. I used 4c in my crockpot which was spot on! At first taste, I was a bit worried, but after adding a good dose of salt & pepper it was better. After adding some sliced green onions (preferred over yellow onion) & a few splashes of hot sauce....oh yum!! A nice, easy, inexpensive meal! Made for Culinary Quest 2014/Cruisin' Culinary Queens. xo Beth

The flavor of these was fantastic, i used ham hocks as called for. Just be careful your beans aren't old as mine were, i am going to do a test few next time to be sure as mine never got soft. They must have been in the store for years.
