Step 1: Soak the beans overnight. Drain put on to cook on simmer the beans water ham seasoning if cooking in slow cooker use 4 cups of water, and still check if you need to add more.
Step 2: Cook until beans until are tender and ham falling off bone making sure to stir so does not stick. May need to add more water.
Step 3: Serve with corn bread and my dad eats mustard with beans , which is good and we always had onions.
