Step by Step Method

Step 1

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2

Brown ground beef, drain off grease. Add in garlic powder and diced onion, bell pepper, taco seasoning and 1/2 cup of the water to pan. Simmer approximately 10 minutes until onion & pepper are softened.

Step 3

In separate bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, 1/2 cup cheddar cheese and green chilies, set aside.

Step 4

Stir Bisquick and 3/4 cup water (you may need a tiny bit more water) to make a soft dough. Spray 13X9 baking pan with non-stick spray. Press dough into bottom of pan and bake 5 minutes.

(Went back to give it 5 stars - it tastes even better the next day!) While browning beef for tacos I realized that there were no tortillas in the house. Your recipe was a life saver - it allowed me to turn to my cupboard rather than run to the grocery store on a rainy night. My family enjoyed this casserole. It's great as it is yet a little garlic powder or taco seasoning stirred into the crust might add an interesting flavor note. Thanks for saving dinner JellyBean!
