"They used A LOT more salt back then, use to your taste. This was a winter thing to help keep house warm. Some other recipes started with dried beans soaked overnight, then cooked. This one started with cooked beans so it might not need the long cooking time."

Step by Step Method

Preheat oven to 250 degrees F.

Mix sauce ingredients together (they layered them) in bottom of a 9 x 13 casserole.
Step 3
Pam spray casserole dish.
Step 4
Add beans, then bacon, then onions.
Step 5
Pour over sauce.
Step 6
Cover and bake 4 to 6 hours.
Step 7
Add water as needed.
