Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a medium bowl, whisk together all marinade ingredients until well blended.

Step 2

Add beef and toss to coat evenly with marinade; let beef stand at room temperature for 20 minutes while you prepare the sauce and chop the broccoli.

Step 3

Whisk together all sauce ingredients in a small bowl or measuring cup and set aside until ready to use.

Step 4

Heat peanut oil in wok or skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 5

Add beef; cook and stir until lightly browned, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 6

Remove beef from wok and keep warm.

Step 7

Add broccoli and 1/2 cup water to wok; cook and stir until broccoli is tender-crisp, about 4 minutes, or cooked to your liking. (If you have a lid for your wok...use it.)

Step 8

Return beef to wok, stir in the onions and make a well in the center; add sauce and let it bubble a bit, then give everything a good stir and cook until sauce has thickened.

Step 9

Top with sesame seeds before serving, if using.

Winner with my family! It is a delicious version of beef and broccoli. Hubby asked for additional veggies, so added some chopped carrots and red bell peppers, seeing I had them on hand. Upped the garlic and ginger and increased the sauce because we like enough sauce to pour over the rice. Served it alongside some tomato rice and it was it ever so good. Yum. Thank you, Luvcookn, for sharing! Made it “What’s on the Menu” and “Billboard” tag games.

This was wonderful over rice. We used the flank steak option but marinated it longer than stated (about 1 hour). We skipped the red pepper flakes and used frozen asian vegetables instead of fresh broccoli. Delicious. Thanks for sharing!
