Step 1: In a medium bowl, whisk together all marinade ingredients until well blended.
Step 2: Add beef and toss to coat evenly with marinade; let beef stand at room temperature for 20 minutes while you prepare the sauce and chop the broccoli.
Step 3: Whisk together all sauce ingredients in a small bowl or measuring cup and set aside until ready to use.
Step 4: Heat peanut oil in wok or skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 5: Add beef; cook and stir until lightly browned, about 3-4 minutes.
Step 6: Remove beef from wok and keep warm.
Step 7: Add broccoli and 1/2 cup water to wok; cook and stir until broccoli is tender-crisp, about 4 minutes, or cooked to your liking. (If you have a lid for your wok...use it.)
Step 8: Return beef to wok, stir in the onions and make a well in the center; add sauce and let it bubble a bit, then give everything a good stir and cook until sauce has thickened.
Step 9: Top with sesame seeds before serving, if using.
