"I found the original of this recipe in the 2011 cookbook, Taste of Home Casseroles. Slightly tweaked, it includes three of my favorites ~ ground beef, beans & buttermilk biscuits."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F, then grease an 11"x7" baking dish.

Step 2

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef & onions over medium heat until meat is no longer pink, then add the garlic & cook 1 minute longer. Drain off the fat.

Step 3

Add the beans, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, ketchup & mustard, then bring to a simmer. Cook another 5 minutes or until heated through, then transfer the meat & bean mixture to the prepared baking dish.

Step 4

Separate the biscuits & cut them in half, before arranging them over the beef mixture.

Step 5

Bake, uncovered, for 18 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown, then sprinkle with the cheese & bake another 2 to 3 minutes longer or until the cheese is melted.
