Step by Step Method
Step 1
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
Step 2
Butter one side of each slice of bread.
Step 3
Place four slices of bread, buttered side down, on a clean surface.

Spread a generous amount of pulled pork or BBQ shredded chicken onto each slice of bread.
Step 5
Add any additional toppings you desire, such as sliced onions, pickles, or a drizzle of BBQ sauce.
Step 6
Sprinkle shredded cheese over the meat and toppings on each slice.
Step 7
Place the remaining four slices of bread on top, buttered side up.
Step 8
Carefully transfer the assembled sandwiches onto the heated skillet or griddle.

Step 10
Carefully flip the sandwiches using a spatula and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the other side is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Step 11
Once the sandwiches are cooked to your desired level of crispness and the cheese is melted, remove them from the skillet or griddle.
Step 12
Let the sandwiches cool for a minute or two, then slice them in half or into quarters for serving.
