I love pea soup and really liked this one. It was full of meat as I added extra when I was making it. I used green split peas and right before serving I used my hand blender to thicken it up even more than it was. I made dumplings in the pan to go with it and it was MMMmmm Good!!!

Fantastic soup!! Loved it!! Next time I think I will double the recipe so I can freeze some and I may add a few chilli flakes for a bit of heat. Thanks for sharing :)

Pea Soup is a favorite for us Mainers during the cold months of winter. It really warms your innards and fills you up all at the same time. I loaded mine with chunks of ham that I had picked off the bone, and it was really satisfying and delicious. I made biscuits to go with it and we were happy campers while we were eating! I froze some of the leftovers and it was just as good as the first time around.

Very good, easy we all loved it I didn't use a ham bone I use a smoked hock, your photo shows a yellow color I'm assuming you used yellow split peas, you don't mention what to use so I used green peas, at any rate it was very good, thank you QueenBea!
