"I couldn't find quite what I was looking for in the posted recipes so I improvised and came up with this recipe. We enjoyed the onions so I thought I would share it. We like our veggies slightly crisp so if you like them well done increase baking time"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Scoop out 3 center layers of each half onion so you have a well in each. Save them for any other recipe. Place onions in an oven proof dish cut side up.

Step 2

Place a teaspoon of butter in each onion well, drizzle with balsamic leaving a bit to pour into each well, drizzle on the honey, season with salt and pepper.

Step 3

Bake uncovered in 395 oven for 35 minutes or until they are baked to your liking.

Wowsers!!! These onions are so good! Served as a side to Sunday roast and this was fantastic! So easy to prepare and cook, and they are so delicious. These onions, would compliment any meat or poultry and would go with just about anything as a side.
