Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Step 2
In a large bowl or using your stand mixer cream together 1 cup butter, dark brown sugar, eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Step 3
Add the spices, instant coffee, and flour and mix well.
Step 4
Fold in raisins, dates, and walnuts.
Step 5
Spread into a greased cookie sheet bar pan.
Step 6
Bake for 12-15 minutes.
Step 7
Frosting: Beat together powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons butter and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Thin with milk.
Step 8
Frost bars when completely cooled.
