Step by Step Method
Step 1
Cook the bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat. Remove from the pan and crumble.

Add 2 tablespoons thinly sliced shallots, cook for 30 seconds. Add the chicken stock, white wine vinegar, mustard, and maple syrup. Cook for 1 minute.

While you are cooking the bacon, preheat the broiler to high; arrange the rack about 4 inches from the heating element.

Arrange the asparagus on a foil lined baking sheet. Coat the asparagus with cooking spray.

Broil the asparagus for 10 minutes, stirring once.
