  • 1 pound asparagus spears (trimmed)
  • Cooking spray
  • 2 ounces bacon (center cut bacon slices, 2 slices)
  • 2 tablespoons shallots, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons chicken stock (unsalted)
  • 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon whole-grain mustard
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup
  • 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook the bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat. Remove from the pan and crumble.

  • Step 2: Add 2 tablespoons thinly sliced shallots, cook for 30 seconds. Add the chicken stock, white wine vinegar, mustard, and maple syrup. Cook for 1 minute.

  • Step 3: While you are cooking the bacon, preheat the broiler to high; arrange the rack about 4 inches from the heating element.

  • Step 4: Arrange the asparagus on a foil lined baking sheet. Coat the asparagus with cooking spray.

  • Step 5: Broil the asparagus for 10 minutes, stirring once.

  • Step 6: Drizzle the stock mixture over the asparagus. Sprinkle with kosher salt and crumbled bacon. Enjoy!
