"From a local church cook-book. I love these bars specifically because they're made with almond paste instead of extract. At Christmas time sprinkle colored sugars and/or chopped nuts on top before baking."

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2

Cream together butter, paste, sugar, eggs and salt.

Step 3

Add flour.

Step 4

Spread into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan.

Step 5

Bake for 30-35 minutes. (don't overbake)

OMGOODNESS!! We are so enjoying this desert as it is incredibly Delicious, Serious! I'm placing this in my Best Of 2019 files. It's a do again for sure and I will be showing these bars off next time I have to bake for an event. I was careful to not over bake as stated and baked it for 35 minutes, but wished I had baked it a bit more as the middle was a bit soft, but wasn't sure if it was supposed to be slightly under baked for best results.
