Step by Step Method

Cook macaroni in heavily salted boiling water until al dente, and drain.

Meanwhile, preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Grease a 3 quart casserole dish.

Sauce: Heat butter and onions, season lightly, and cook until translucent.
Step 5
Add flour and cook until lightly browned.
Step 6
Add milk and cook until thickened.
Step 7
Add noodles and cheese and mix, season to taste.
Step 8
Pour into prepared casserole dish.
Step 9
Bake for 30 minutes until bubbly and lightly browned.
