"A recipe I make every year for Xmas. It is perfect for the little ones or the designated drivers as there is no alcohol in this. But, you may add rum if you like....."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Separate eggs.

Step 2

Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry.

Step 3

Gradually beat in 1/2 cup of sugar.

Step 4

In separate bowl, beat egg yolks with 1/4 cup sugar and milk.

Step 5

Fold egg yolk mixture into egg white mixture.

Step 6

When blended, add whipping cream and rum extract.

Step 7

Chill before serving.

Step 8

Pour into glasses and sprinkle with nutmeg.

Thanks for the memories! This reminds me of my childhood when my Dad had the idea that I should be consuming more eggs, which I detested. So in order to entice me to drink the concoction, he would let me choose which food coloring I wanted to be added to the drink. Although I love store bought eggnog, there is some ingredient in it that makes me cough, however, this recipe did not cause that to happen. Thanks for posting. I also refrained from dyeing the drink green or blue. Made for Billboard tag.
