"My mother and grandmother has made this cake recipe since the 1930's apparently it was from a newspaper, and has become well known and loved over the years, it's called wacky because there are no eggs in it and the prep is quite different than a regular cake, it can be iced or without icing, it's delicious any way you make it. I like it with warm with just butter, also powdered sugar is good on it if you don't want to have icing"

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt in a 9x13 pan.
Step 2
Make three holes in the flour mixture.
Step 3
In one put vanilla; in another the vinegar, and in the third the oil.
Step 4
Pour water over all and stir well.
Step 5
Bake at 350 degrees F until it springs back to the touch or a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean - about 25 minutes.
