"These burgers have been made many times and are one of my favorite turkey burgers. The addition of pepperoni gives it such a nice punch of flavor, not to mention the other addition of the herbs, garlic, lemon, and the flavored mayonnaise add to its success. Source is from that other site, submitted by LoriMama, with some additional changes of my own."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a bowl place the ground turkey, pepperoni, half the 3 minced garlic cloves, sage, salt and pepper.

Step 2

Mix together and form into 4 equal sized patties.

Step 3

Heat a large cast-iron skillet (preferably a griddle pan) over medium-high heat. Add oil to grease bottom of pan.

Step 4

Add the patties and cook, undisturbed, until browned, 5 minutes. Turn and cook until golden brown on the bottom for 3 more minutes until you have reached desired doneness.

Step 5

Meanwhile, combine the mayo, lemon zest, herb mixture, the other grated garlic clove, salt and pepper.

Step 6

Top each patty with 2 slices cheese, cover and cook until the cheese melts, about 1 minute. Transfer the patties to a plate.

Step 7

Toast the buns cut-side down in the skillet, then remove from the pan and spread with the herb mayonnaise. Season the tomato slices with salt and pepper. Sandwich the lettuce, burger patties and tomatoes on the buns. Serve.

Yum! Yum! These burgers are loaded with flavor (and lots of garlic) Every bite is delicious! The pepperoni and spices meld into a patty we could have eaten without the bun. The herb (and more garlic) mayo takes the burger over the top. These will reappear on the grill often this summer. Yum!

We really liked these burgers -- great combination of the turkey and pepperoni. We also loved the mayo/herb sauce. Skipped the lettuce but added pickles. A great supper burger! Thanks for sharing!

I love trying a recipe that has a different combo of ingredients and this recipe sure meets that criteria. The pepperoni adds pep & great flavour to the turkey burger. The mao mixture & provolone are just the right finishing touch.I used pizza pepperoni & next time (ther will be a next time) I will use the stick-hotter pepperoni.
