Step by Step Method

Step 1

Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, parsley, nutmeg, onion powder, salt, pepper, egg and garlic together. Make 16 meatballs.

Step 2

Brown meatballs under broiler until golden brown.

Step 3

Steam the tomatoes and onion while meat is broiling.

Step 4

When meatballs are browned put in tomato mixture.

Step 5

Add parsley, salt, cinnamon, dash saffron if using, turmeric, pepper, and tomato juice.

Step 6

Close lid tightly and simmer gently for 30 minutes.
