"From an old, old issue of The Homemaker's Forum. This replaces the packaged mix that they sell in the spice aisles at the grocery store. I use this when making the ground beef for Taco Salads. Ok, ok - I know. This isn't authentically Mexican. But then again, neither are taco salads! Yield is enough for 1 lb. of ground beef or ground turkey."

FAQ

Q: How much seasoning should I use?

A: Use the entire powder for 1 lb of ground meat. If you are using more than 1 lb of ground meat, increase the seasoning proportionally.

A: For the best results, cook the meat over medium-high heat until it is cooked through and lightly browned. Make sure to stir the meat often to prevent it from sticking to the pan.

I happen to have 3 kinds of ground chili - mild, medium and extra hot, so I used all three, but only a little of the x-hot! I have not used it on tacos yet, but I did sprinkle it on corn-on-the-cob. I used some of that low-cal spray butter to keep the taco seasoning from falling off and it was great! DH loved it, too!
