Delish! I only made 1/3 of the recipe, but used a large bay leaf. I loved the nuance that it gave the cider, which was even better the next day. Thanks for sharing!

I must be the only person out there who has never made hot cider before, but I haven't. I was excited to find this recipe in the Best of 2018 game since I was sure the grocery cider would need some add-ins, and I didn't know what that should be. Loved the flavor and how easy it was. Made a 1/2 gallon in a soup pot, had several evening cups, cooled the rest, then strained/poured it back into the the 1/2 gallon jug the cider came in. For the next week, I'll be microwaving a cup at a time for a warm cup every evening.

Perfect for a cold night. We really enjoyed this and I do agree that the bay leaf gave it another layer of flavor. Such a comforting drink. I will be making this throughout the Fall. Thank you ellie for sharing. Made it for Billboard Tag.

I am not sure what bay leaf adds to recipes, flavorwise, although I have been using them in soups for years. The cinnamon and cloves are what I always use in cider and this does have another layer of flavor than usual, so I will be using bay leaves in my cider from now on.

I was curious how the bay leaves would be in this, and I'm not sure I can really pick it out, but the spices all seem to be balanced with none standing out over the other which is probably why. This does taste really good! Thanks for sharing.
